About Us

Bernard Fitzpatrick (founder of Spatial 3i) is a Geographer who has been involved with mapping and spatial information technologies since 1980. He has working experience in cartography, geographic information systems, and remote sensing in the areas of natural resource management, forestry, and primary production in Australia, South East Asia, and Africa.

Bernard has worked in project and business management, and technical roles including research and development, and training. He draws on this experience and expertise to work with his clients to develop their solutions. The following are some projects Bernard Fitzpatrick has undertaken since 1987:

  • Mapping infestations of the invasive weed, Mimosa pigra on the Northern Territory floodplains.
  • Fire scar mapping over Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park.
  • Land cover / land use mapping in Central Sumatra.
  • Mangrove mapping in Darwin Harbour.
  • Yield estimate and harvest tracking mapping of sugar cane in Queensland.
  • Community mapping of Camphor Laurel on the Sunshine Coast.
